Originally from Marseille, Professor COURET completed his entire medical training there before arriving in La Réunion in 2011. Appointed as a hospital practitioner the following year in neuro-reanimation, he has since worked in the same department. At the same time, he is studying science at the University of La Réunion (Masters in Molecular Biology). As an extension of this course, he is starting a science thesis on cerebral ischaemia and neuroprotection.
Professor COURET is currently continuing his research into cerebral ischaemia within the DeTROI unit, where he is an associate researcher. In 2021, he will complete his research training by obtaining an Habilitation to Supervise Research at the Université de la Réunion.
