Dr Emmanuel Bourdon completed his PhD in Biochemistry in 2000 at Dijon (France). He completed his research formation by a two-year postdoctoral position at National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, USA) and by a one year and a half postdoc in France. In 2004, he got a permanent position as assistant professor in physiology and was promoted to professor in biochemistry in 2012 at the university of La Réunion (La Réunion, France).
Since 2004, Dr Bourdon has focused his research on interactions between oxidative stress and cellular pathophysiology in diabetes context. He is the author/co-author of more than 75 peer-reviewed publications in that field of research. Also, ten students have supported a doctoral thesis under his (co)direction. research interestsOxidative stress, oxidative damages, biomarkers, diabetes, diabetic complications, nutritional and pharmaceutical therapies, education.
